Zambia Crash Out Of World Cup, Senegal Win To Stay In Race For Group 1 Spot.

Zambias dreams of World Cup football will have to be put on the shelf for another four years, as Senegal beat them 1-0, in Group 1 of the FIFA World Cup African qualifying zone. In total contrast Senegal are still very much in the running, hoping that fellow group rivals Togo slip up against Liberia in their match today.

A single goal in the second half, from El Hadji-Diouf was enough to see Senegal keep their own World cup dreams alive, and in beating Zambia, they now top Group 1 over former group leaders Togo, and in their final game in the group, will face Mali at home on the 7th October.
