West Ham United's Welsh Trio Looking To The Future

English Premier League club West Ham United's three Welsh stars are looking to the future. Danny Gabbidon, Carl Fletcher and James Collins all feature in the Wales squad for their up coming world cup qualifiers, and although they will, barring a miracle, be unable to qualify, the present squad, under the direction of ex-Real Madrid manager John Toshack, believe that their young team stand a more than decent chance of qualifying for the European Nations Cup. The better the result from their final group 6 World Cup matches, the higher the seeding will be for the Euro's in 2008. It has taken a while for Wales to re-group following the departure of previous manager Blackburn's Mark Hughes, but under the steadying, albeit iron fist rule of Toshack, there are definite signs of a revival. West Ham United are of course famous for having provided the World Cup winning trio of Sir Geoff Hurst,Martin Peters and the Legendary late and great Bobby Moore. Although this new generation hail from the tiny principality of Wales instead of England, they still hope to make a dent on footballing history with their appearances for their country. Not so happy are Robby Savage and Ben Thatcher, both established Premier league players, but both have fallen foul of Toshack's strict regime, and he is known to be a man who doesn't suffer fools gladly."The next matches will set a course for my team in the future, and if that means getting rid of some troublesome baggage, then so be it!" said an animated Toshack as his team prepared to face Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan.
