Wayne Rooney & Spurs' Aaron Lennon Come On For England V T&T - Rooney Makes Return After 7 Weeks Of Injury
Wayne Rooney has come on as a substitute for Michael Owen in the early stages of the second-half of England's World Cup Group B match against Trinidad and Tobago, with Aaron Lennon coming on for Jamie Carragher.
Michael Owen had a perfect chance go just inches from the post, just before he was replaced by Wayne Rooney, with his former Liverpool team-mate Jamie Carragher being subbed for Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon in the 58th minute.
Rooney has not played since breaking his metatarsal in a match against Manchester United in April, but has made a remarkable recovery in order to feature for England's Three Lions in Germany.
Both Lennon and Rooney immediately stepped up the pace of the England attack, but as yet (66 min) the T&T defence has held strong and denied England a clear goalscoring opportunity in the half.
