Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger was re-approached by Real Madrid's presidential candidate Juan Miguel Villar Mir with an "upgraded" offer to bring the French manager to Real Madrid, and says this time he is hopeful that Wenger will seriously consider it.

Two candidates top Villar Mir's list of candidates for Real Madrid's coach vacancy. Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, who is thought to be the top candidate for the job and Juventus' manager Fabio Capello

"We have opened some negotiations with Wenger and Capello - two excellent coaches," Villar Mir said to the Spanish media. "But we have maintained some other conversations. In the end, we will bring the best one here."

Arsene Wenger led Arsenal to the final of the 2005/2006 UEFA Champions League tournament, where they lost to the Spanish Club Barcelona and his capabilities are admired by Villar Mir.

Spanish press reports indicate that in addition to the financial incentives to join Real Madrid, Wenger will be given the opportunity to bring the players he wants without the need for authorisation from the team's Executives, and additionally he will be given time to build the team he wants without putting any deadline's on when the team are aiming to become Spainish Champions again.
