Argentina captain and Valencia CF centre-back Roberto Ayala has named his personal team of the year 2006, as a prelude to the Europe’s team of 2006 (voted by uefa.com users) - results of which will be out on Friday.

One of the world’s best central defenders, the 33-year-old Ayala has included Premiership champions Chelsea’s Ivory Coast international striker Didier Drogba and England and Chelsea captain John Terry, centre-back, in the list which has six players from Spanish La Liga, posted on uefa.com.

Roberto Ayala's Team of 2006: Goalkeeper - Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus); Right back - Daniel Alves (Sevilla FC), Left back - Philipp Lahm (FC Bayern München), Central defenders - Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid CF) & John Terry (Chelsea FC);

Central midfielder - Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan), Right midfielder - Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), Left midfielder - Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Attacking midfielder - Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal CF).

Forwards - Didier Drogba (Chelsea) & David Villa (Valencia).

Coach - Juande Ramos (Sevilla).
