England have announced an international friendly football match against Marco van Basten's Netherlands in November the FA have announced.

The match takes place on Wednesday 15 November at the Ajax Arena in Amsterdam for the match which follows on from a string of Euro 2008 qualifiers for both teams in September and October.

The two sides have met 16 times to date, and England last faced Holland's 'Oranje' in a dull 0-0 draw at Villa Park in February 2005.

Historically, England have secured five victories over Holland, who have won four, with seven draws.

The match will be the last England game of 2006, and the new England manager, whoever it is that takes over from Sven Goran Eriksson, will already be entrenched in the qualification for Euro 2008, having already met Andorra and Macedonia.

Kick-off time is yet to be confirmed.
