Brazil captain and AC Milan defender Cafu says he is making a swift recovery from surgery on his left knee and believes that he will be on top-form in time for the World Cup Finals in Germany.

The AC Milan star, who is the first-ever player to have played in three consecutive World Cup Finals, underwent arthroscopic surgery on February 15, in Rio de Janeiro and is returning to match-fitness ahead of schedule in time to star for Brazil in the World Cup.

"I'm sure I'm going to get to the World Cup in excellent form, it's my dream," Cafu told the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) official website.

The Seleçao captain, who celebrates his 36th birthday during the World Cup, has made a speedy recovery and even said that he was available for Milan's Serie A match against Fiorentina on Saturday.

Brazil head coach Carlos Alberto Parreira will be ecstatic at the news of Cafu's early return to fitness, with the veteran defender's experience a boost to the Seleçao's defence of the World Cup title.

The Brazilian captain is confident of his progress so far, saying: "I'm feeling really good."
