Submitted by Pavlos Skoufis on Mon, 07/11/2005 - 00:20.

Hakan Sukur, the 34 year old Galatasaray striker is set to return to the Turkish squad for the 2006 World Cup Playoff against Switzerland on the 12th of November. Sukur seems to be very fit, as he has scored four times in the last 5 games of Galatasaray, both on the local championship and in Europe.

However he is unlikely to be included in the 11-player team, as he faces competition from Gokhan Unal. Fenerbahce players Tuncay Sanlı and Servet Cetin, and PAOK FC defender Fatih Akyel were also included in the squad.
