Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Orlando Pirates Half-Time Report - Darren Bent Opens For Spurs In Pre-Season Friendly Match

Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading Orlando Pirates 1-0 at half-time in their pre-season friendly in Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday night.

Tottenham Boss Martin Jol started with Jermaine Defoe and Darren Bent starting in attack for Spurs, with Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov on the bench.

Darren Bent opened the scoring in the 12th minute, from a long-pass from Tom Huddlestone, bringing the ball down well and despatching an expertly guided controlled long-range lob over the Pirates keeper from the edge of the area to make it 1-0.

Despite Spurs having the majority of possession, the Orlando Pirates almost equalised in the 25th minute when Lebohang Mokoena broke through the Spurs defence and had his first chance saved by Cerny, before shooting wide on his second chance.

Tom Huddlestone had a shot go wide of the Pirates post as the half came to a close, with the half finishing 1-0 to Martin Jol's team, but with the Orlando Pirates looking like they were in with a chance of scoring in the second-half.
