Togo's World Cup Group G match against Switzerland was thrown into doubt when the African team's players refused to travel from their team base to the match venue at Dortmünd on Sunday.

The World Cup debutantes have had their preparations for the World Cup Finals have been thrown in to chaos by a dispute over bonuses, with the players claiming they had been misled by their national team officials.

According to a member of the Togolese delegation - who asked not to be named - the players refused to leave their hotel on Sunday morning and board the bus which was to take them to Dotmund.

"They just refused to go," said the source. "They have yet to see any money and for them this is the only way they can voice their dissatisfaction."

One of the Togo players told AFP by telephone that they were holding a meeting to discuss what they intend to do.

Togo game against Switzerland is scheduled for Monday at 14.00CEST with both teams still in a position to be able to reach the last sixteen.
