Team Melli's Coach Branko Ivankovic Says Sattar Zare Will Miss the Entire World Cup

Bargh Shiraz's defender Sattar Zare was injured during training two days and will miss Iran's opening match against Mexico in Nuremberg, with a knee injury.

"During practice two days ago, after a wrong move he felt pain in his right knee. He has problems with the ligaments," Iran's Croat head coach Branko Ivankovic told reporters.

He has instructed team officials to contact FIFA and replace him, just 24 hours before the game kicks-off, as it was when FIFA's deadline on such squad changes can happen.

"We have made the contacts with officials because there is the 24-hour rule and so if Zare cannot play then we are allowed to call up Shakoury," Zico said, adding that Zare was in his starting line-up plans.
