Sweden & Juventus Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Injury Might Rule Him Out of England World Cup Match
Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic might miss the final match in Group B of the World Cup 2006 Finals against the England national football team due to an groin strain, according to the team's medical experts.
Speaking at a press conference alongside the team's head coach, Lars Lagerback, Doctor Anders Valentin, a member of Sweden's medical team, said that Zlatan Ibrahimovic might miss the match if further scans do not show signs of recovery today.
Ibrahimovic strained his groin during the warm-up before Sweden's second Group B match against Paraguay and had to be substituted after 45 minutes, as the pain intensified.
"Today he is feeling better. Of course we're worried about the next game," Doctor Valentin said.
Sweden's medical team will be monitoring the Juventus international striker and will be reporting back to Lagerback. The news deal a major blow to Lagerback, as the final Group B match for his team is a must win, as they want to avoid playing against Germany in the knockout-stage.
