Sweden Captain Olof Mellberg Linked With Move From Aston Villa To Bayern Munich

Aston Villa's Swedish captain Olof Mellberg has reportedly been linked with a summer move to German champions Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old who is also the captain of the Sweden World Cup squad, still has two years left on his current contract and Villa manager David O'Leary knows that he may have to cash in on the centre-back this summer in order to enable the funds for further signings this summer.

Mellberg, currently with the Sweden side that face will be facing England on Tuesday in the World Cup Finals, cost £5.6m when signed from Spanish-side Racing Santander five years ago.
