Ending days of speculation about a possible move to a Swedish Club, Larson announced through his personal website that he will decide his next move after the end of the World Cup 2006 tournament in Germany.

Press reports portray Larson as Newcastle's coach Graeme Souness' first choice for replacing the badly injured Michael Owen. However, the player had declared interest only for moving to a Swedish Club.

The 33-years-old striker was interested to find a club in Sweden, so he can get more games and keep fit for Sweden's Group B challenge in the World Cup Finals.

Speaking at a short interview with the "Herald", Larson's agent Rob Jansen said that "I have heard about the interest and the speculation but Henrik has decided to stay in Spain with Barcelona until the end of the season and then he will consider his options," ending days of speculation from the media.

Tottenham Hotspurs and Danish champions Brondby had also declared interest for the player. Sweden's Helsingborg and Malmo seem to be the frontrunners for any move, however this is something that will be decided in the summer. It is clear that Larson is seeking a Swedish club to end his footballing career.
