Spurs' Aaron Lennon Gives Sven England Squad 2nd Option Alongside Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips

Tottenham Hotspur's Young Player of the Year, Aaron Lennon, has staked his claim for a place in Sven Goran Eriksson's England squad after an excellent run of form.

19-year-old Lennon scored the only goal in Spurs' win over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, in a game that was attended by England head coach Sven Goran Eriksson, and was awarded the Tottenham Hotspur Young Player of the Year award after the match.

Lennon, who scored his first goal for Spurs on March 18 against Birmingham City, scored in the second half of the match to keep Tottenham in the running for a Champions League spot.

Lennon has not yet appeared for England, but his form this season has alerted many of the top Premiership managers to his talent and the young player is now likely to be in contention alongside Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips for a place on the plane to Germany in June.

Lennon for England! his pace, skill and general technique is just too much for most defenders, which he has shown with a brilliant season at Spurs. He is far more effective than Shaun Wright Phillips who has nothing on Lennon in my opinion.

Lennon has got to go to the world cup. His pace will scare the opposition defences especialy those who know nothing about him. Also he can give england something diffrent with 20 or so minutes to when they need a goal.

I don't see why Lennon not leaving with the England squad to
Germany this June. Geez, he's a better option than SWP. Sean
isn't doing good at Chelsea and Lennon keeps all managers heads
up in alert match after match. A blitz pacer & superb crosses
and SWP is nowhere near his standard. SWP... talk 'bout the WRONG STUFF!
