Spain's Captain and Real Madrid Striker Raul Meets Aragones, Confirms Readiness For The Spanish World Cup Finals Squad
The Real Madrid international striker met with Spanish Coach Luis Aragones and informed him about his knee ligaments recovery progress.
Raul was injured and is expected to join his Real Madrid team-mates for training very soon according to Spanish sports daily AS. Initially, the Club's medical team had planned a surgery operation, but recent medical tests have shown that he is recovering faster than initially anticipated.
The player was injured during Real Madrid's clash with Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid in November the 19th. Real's medical team initially announced that he might miss the entire season, while Spain's Coach Luis Aragones started making alternative plans.
Raul has also started a personal training program for the past 3 weeks and his recovery will probably spare him from going into the surgery room for an operation on his meniscus.
He is Spain's all-time leading scorer and also has most caps than any other Spanish player. In the last World Cup Qualifying matches for Spain, Aragones favoured Fernando Torres, who scored 7 goals for the Spanish national football team.
