South Africa implode as Burkina Faso spoil the party

South Africa have relinquished any realistic hopes of reaching 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, after being torn apart by a rampant Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou. A brace from Abdoulaye Cisse, and another from Kebe Yahia left the South Africans in turmoil, with a late consolation goal from Sibusisoo Zuma doing little to lift the gloom.
With South Africa needing to win to keep the pressure on group leaders Ghana, an indifferent performance was the last thing they wanted. Unfortunately for them, that is what they delivered.
Burkina Faso swept them away, Cisse scored the first after 34 minutes, and six minutes later Bafana Bafana found themselves two-nil down when Yahia converted. Five minutes after the restart the Stallions went three up, when Cisse netted his second.
There’s nowhere to go from here for South Africa, if Ghana achieve the expected win against bottom placed Uganda on Sunday, they will be crowned as Group Two qualifiers in all but name, and secure their first ever World Cup finals appearance.

It was a real disapointment to have a team like South Africa crash out of the World Cup race to Burkina Faso with such long Goal difference. I just Hope Nigeria Get a good resault against Algeria on Sunday 4 September.
