Socceroos to Play Friendly Against The Netherlands, Days Before Germany World Cup Kicks-Off
Guus Hiddink's team will play a last International Friendly match against Holland, as part of its preparation efforts for the World Cup 2006 soccer tournament.
The game will take place on the 4th of June, possibly in Rotterdam. The Socceroos will then travel to Germany on the 6th, to settle in their World Cup Germany base. Guus Hiddink, Australia's Coach wanted a strong last test for the Socceroos, a few days before the tournament kicks-off.
Australia has been seeded in a very tough group, along with Brazil, Croatia and Japan. Especially the match against Croatia is of special interest for both countries, as there are disputes between the two regarding some players' nationality.
Dutchman Hiddink helped the Korea Republic team in the last World Cup reach higher than anyone expected. His skills are well known and respected in the football family.
Hiddink wants to give as many opportunities as possible to his players, especially Everton's Tim Cahill, who has not been given many chances by the English Premiership club.
