During a training session with Real Sociedad today, Kovacevic torn his Achilles tendon on the same spot he had undergone surgery 2 months ago. The team's medical officials confirmed the injury, after the player was rushed to hospital for a scan.
The 32-years-old striker was deemed fit from his previous injury and started intensive training. The injury was severe and the player had to undergo surgery again. Darko Kovacevic is one of the key players in Real Sociedad's squad and in the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup with Serbia and Montenegro.
Real Sociedad is not doing well in Spain's Primera Division, as the team is on the 13th place and not far from the relegation places.
