Senegal Striker Henri Camara Fails to Return For Club Duty At Wigan After African Cup of Nations
Senegal striker Henri Camara has failed to return to duty with his club side, Wigan Athletic, since appearing for Senegal in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Camara failed to show for his 18:00 flight yesterday evening at Paris airport leaving Wigan with no recognised strikers upfront in their game against Liverpool this afternoon, and as a result Paul Scharner had to deputise up front.
The Senegalese striker was set to hurry back to England to play in their Premiership encounter against Liverpool today, but failed to turn up for the match.
Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell said: “I don't know what the situation is (with Camara). He was booked on a flight yesterday. I don't want to stay too much at the moment.”
It would seem that there is surely a good reason for Camara to not return, as he seems to have settled in well at Wigan, and the 28 year old forward has become a firm favourite with the ‘Latics’, having scored eight goals so far this season.
