Scotland Under-20 head coach Archie Gemmill has named his 21-man squad for the Under-20 World Cup Finals 2007, Canada. Scotland beat Portugal, Turkey and the Czech Republic, as well as France in qualifying for the Finals in Canada, with a 2-1 defeat to Spain the only loss as they cruised to a place at Canada 2007. The European runners-up have been drawn in Group F, alongside the Asia runners-up Japan, 2005 losing finalists Nigeria and Costa Rica. Celtic centre-half Scott Cuthbert has been awarded the captain's armband for the tournament and he is joined by another six players from Celtic, with the only player playing his club football outside of Scotland being Norwich City defender Andrew Cave-Brown. Hibernian left footed striker Steven Fletcher - who scored nine times in nine qualifying matches for the Tartan Army - is the main threat to Japan, and is joined by two forwards from his club-side – Sean Lynch and Ross Campbell - with Livingston’s Robert Snodgrass and Graham Dorrins the other two strikers to travel to Canada. The Scots start their campaign against Japan in Sunday's opening Group F match at the Royal Athletic Park in Victoria.
