Hampden Park in Scotland's second City, Glasgow will host a Scotland vs USA friendly battle, coinciding with the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany Play-off fixtures. The match was arranged literally in the last minute in order to give both teams the chance to play an extra match before the end of the year.

"With only one international fixture date next year, this is an excellent opportunity to get our group together as we continue to shape our team for the World Cup; Scotland is traditionally a very solid team, and we are looking forward to the game." said USA coach Bruce Arena. The American coach is expected to include only players who participate in the European leagues.

It's worth mentioning that the US football team has not played a game in Scotland since a 6-0 Scottish victory back in August 30, 1952. Last time both teams met was on the 30th of May 1998, days before the 1998 FIFA World Cup's Opening Ceremony.

Meanwhile in other news, the USA team will settle in the German port city of Hamburg for it's preparations for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany tournament.
