Saudi Arabia V Ukraine Group H Match Preview: Ukraine Captain & Chelsea New Boy Shevchenko Wants A Better Display

Saudi Arabia’s Al Sugour meet Ukraine in their World Cup Group H match at the AOL Arena in Hamburg on Monday.

Saudi Arabia head coach Marcos Paqueta is expected to field a very attacking team against Ukraine in a match that both teams need to win to have any chance of making the second round, with Ukraine still reeling from Wednesday's 4-0 defeat by Spain in the opening match.

Ukraine captain and new Chelsea FC signing Andriy Shevchenko will be hoping to put on a better performance than he did against Spain’s La Furia Roja.

The 2004 European Footballer of the Year looked off full-fitness and well well out of match practice when he made his full return from injury against Spain and failed to get a shot on target.

Saudi coach Paqueta turned up the heat on the match by saying in the pre-match press conference: “Ukraine are a weak team and we have to try and get to them early. We have to take advantage of the way the fixtures have worked out for us.”

Strangely Shevchenko agreed with Paqueta saying: “I think every one of us understands we have to start again from scratch.

“I said before that a good result for us is to make it out of the group.”

There are no suspended players for Saudi Arabia but Ukraine's experienced central defender Vladislav Vashchyuk is banned after being sent off against Spain.
