Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo has been called up by Ghana Black Stars boss Ratomir Dujkovic for a World Cup warm-up friendly.

According to the Bristol Rovers website, Agogo, who has scored 18 goals from 44 starts for the League Two club this season, was called up to represent Ghana in a pre-World Cup friendly on Thursday.

The Black Stars face French side OGC Nice next Tuesday, and the Rovers striker has been called-on by World Cup debutantes Ghana to represent them ahead of the tournament this summer.

If Agogo impresses he could yet earn a last-minute place in Dujkovic's 23-man squad and, unexpectedly, face the best players in the world in Germany.

Agogo is due to fly out on Monday to take part in the friendly match, which is Ghana's last game before the World Cup selection is made on May 15.

Only then will a decision be known if Agogo will be included by Ghana in their World Cup plans.
