Rooney Returns To Clinic To Get Results Of Scan On Metatarsal

England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has returned to the clinic in Manchester where he underwent the scan on his broken metatarsal earlier today, to discuss the results with the specialists.

He was accompanied by the Football Association executive director David Davies to the Whalley Range clinic in Manchester to get the results.

If Rooney fails to get the nod from the England and Manchester United medical teams, then Tottenham Hotspur's Jermain Defoe will replace Rooney in the 23-man England squad.
