David Beckham has bounced back from Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello’s ostracisation to script their 3-2 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League at home on Tuesday night, and the former England captain is keen to wear the Three Lions shirt back.

Amidst a clamour for his recall to the national side, 31-year-old Beckham, who has been dropped by England boss Steve McClaren following the World Cup in Germany, could well make a return in next month's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Andorra.

"My ambition has never changed since the age of 13, even younger. I always wanted to play for my country and I will always be available whether I'm in Spain for the next four months, or whether I'm in LA," said Beckham, who will move to MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season.

Beckham, who has 94 England caps, scored on his Real Madrid return in the La Liga match against Real Sociedad earlier, and showed that he can rise up to the occasion as he set up two goals in the Spain club’s win against their fiercest rivals Bayern at El Santiago Bernabeu.

So when the chips were down, Beckham has come back fighting, so much so that he is being considered as the saviour of Capello’s job on both occasions Real won. And now that McClaren is under pressure with England not producing desired results, it remains to be seen whether the former Manchester United star comes to his rescue as well?
