Portugal head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has named his 23-man squad for the World Cup Finals in Germany.

The English Premiership features six players in the squad travelling to Germany, with eight Portuguese-based players.

From The Premiership, Chelsea have had three players named in the squad going to the Finals, with Paulo Ferreira, Ricardo Carvalho and Maniche featuring from the Premiership champions.

Everton's Nuno Valente has also been named with Manchester United’s Christian Ronaldo – one of the players in the running for the Young Player of the Tournament award – and Fulham’s veteran international striker Luis Boa Morte.

Boa Morte will be joined in attack by Pauleta from Paris St. Germain, Benfica’s Nuno Gomes and former Spurs striker Hélder Postiga, who only spent one season with the North Londoner’s and is now with St. Etienne.

Barcelona midfielder Deco and will be joined in midfield by Benfica’s Simao Sabrosa and Portugal veteran Luis Figo as well as Christian Ronaldo.

Scolari did not name Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma - who helped Porto win the league and the Portuguese Cup – in the squad for Germany but, undoubtedly, the biggest loss from the squad was central defender Jorge Andrade, who is recovering from knee surgery. Andrade has been replaced by Porto's Ricardo Costa.

Portugal have been drawn in Group D in the World Cup, alongside Mexico, Iran and Angola.
