Portugal is divided over whether Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is the man for the job for their national team as Brazilian World-Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari’s reign comes to an end after the completion of European Championship 2008.

Poll results published on Correio da Manha have shown 43.1 percent support 44-year-old Portuguese Mourinho to succeed Scolari while 42.2 are opposed. The remaining 14.7 percent did not have an opinion.

Mourinho, who is under contract with Chelsea until 2010, is embroiled in rumours of being on his way out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. But the former Porto boss had been on record saying he would like a shot at being the home-country coach before retiring.
