Portugal Boss Scolari Urges Appeal Against Deco's Red-Card So That He Can Play England In Quarter-Finals
Portugal head coach Luis Felipe Scolari has urged the Portuguese Football Association to appeal against the red-card issued to Deco in their match against Holland on Sunday, so that he can feature in the quarter-final against England.
He is appealing against the first-yellow card, a lunge on Dutch defender John Heitinga.
Scolari said: "The Federation could send a letter to FIFA because of the first-yellow card.
"The ball was ours, we had possesssion, but the Dutch player was told by his coach to continue playing," continued the Portugal boss.
"We find this unfair, there should be fair play guidelines from FIFA. The time has come for FIFa to think about this, step in the decision to allow us to play Deco against England"
