Poland have arranged an international friendly match against the United States on March 1st, as part of both teams' preparations for next year's World Cup in Germany, Poland's Football Federation confirmed on Wednesday.

The match will be played in Kaiserslautern, Germany, one of the stadiums that will be used in the World Cup finals.

Poland have been drawn in Group A, and will be up against the hosts Germany, Costa Rica and Ecuador, and will see this match as a good warm-up for the finals.

“Their (The United States') style of play is reminiscent of our group rivals Costa Rica,” Polish assistant coach Maciej Skorza said to the Polish sports daily Przeglad Sportowy on Wednesday. “Such a test is useful.”

The United States has a history of struggling against European competition, and in their last competitive match against each other, the U.S lost 3-1 to Poland in the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan.

The U.S team will face Italy, Ghana, and the Czech Republic in Group E in the first round of the World Cup, which starts on June the 9th.
