Peru coach Julio Cesar Uribe has named his 22-man squad for the Copa America 2007, Venezuela, but has left out Newcastle United midfielder Nolberto Solano from the roster, while Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro has been recalled.

Solano, who has also played in the right-back position for the Magpies, has had a strained relationship with the national association since 2005, when the 32-year-old decided to quit the national football team due to disagreements with the coach at the time, Freddy Ternero.

However last month Julio Cesar had said that he would be open to select Solano in the national side but said he wouldn’t get into the Copa America squad as he had his 22 decided for the international championship.

Meanwhile, Pizarro, who has seen off his contract at Bayern Munich and signed for Chelsea FC as a free agent this summer, gets a recall from Uribe.

Peruvian free-kick specialist and Catania defender Juan Manuel Vargas, known as 'El Loco' by Peru fans, will also be a key player to watch during the tournament.

The focus of the Peruvian attack will be on PSV Eindhoven striker Jefferson Farfan, who scored 21 goals in the Dutch league last season, with Hamburg SV striker Paolo Guerrero joining him in the 22-man-squad.
