AC Milan living-legend Paolo Maldini accompanied by fellow Italians Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo and Brazilian Ronaldo have been included in the European All-Star XI of Italy’s World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, for Tuesday's Charity Match against United to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and Manchester United's half-century in European competitions, at Old Trafford.

AS Roma striker Alessandro Mancini and Valencia defender Luis Miguel have also been confirmed in the squad.

However, there are doubts on the fitness of Barcelona attacker Ronaldinho, who is reportedly having a thigh niggle, while Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham is out with a knee injury.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson had declared he would field a strong side but his squad is depleted of late with a heap of injuries.

As many as eight United players are having fitness battle in hand at present, but midfielder Paul Scholes, who is serving domestic suspension, is free to play.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Louis Saha, Patrice Evra, Darren Fletcher, Mikael Silvestre, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Edwin Van der Sar are all nursing niggles.
