Norwich City Star Robert Green Out Of World Cup Finals For England After Injury

England substitute goalkeeper Robert Green has injured himself after coming on at half-time against Belarus in their international World Cup warm-up friendly at the Madejski stadium in Reading.

The Norwich City keeper replaced veteran England and Manchester City shot-stopper David James in goal at half-time for the 'B' friendly encounter, and virtually his first touch of the game saw the standby keeper slip as he was routinely clearing the ball.

The resulting slip badly injured the talented young England hopeful, and the ball fell to Belarus striker Vitaly Kutuzov who slotted the ball into the empty net to make it 1-1 after Jermaine Jenas scored the opener in the first-half.

Green has now been confirmed as having ruptured his groin in the initial save he had to make in the match and is now going to miss any chance of featuring in the World Cup Finals for the Three Lions.
