Mexico's top striker Jared Borgetti has scored his first goal for his new team Bolton Wanderers FC. The English Premiership side signed the International supremo from his former club Pachuca, from Mexico this Summer, and came on as a substitute for Bolton, in the first-ever European match for 'The Wanderers' in their entire 131-year history.

Bolton, who were playing the Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the first round of the UEFA Cup were trailing 1-0 to the Visitors, but a goal from former African Player of the Year, Senegal striker El Hadji-Diouf drew the scores level.

Even though Jared Borgetti has still not started a game yet for his new club side, his substitution onto the pitch in the 58th minute of the match for fellow International player, Denmark's Henrik Pedersen, he made an immediate impact.

Playing up front in a 4-4-2 formation he immediately brought some strength to the Bolton attack, and showed his class with a beautiful strike in the second-half injury time, for the goal that won the game 2-1 for the Premiership team.

This may well show how well Borgetti could fit into life in the English Premiership.
