Mexico's all-time leading scorer, Cruz Azul striker Jared Borgetti, is out of the Copa América 2007 after receiving an injury to his left leg during Sunday's CONCACAF Gold Cup final loss the U.S.

The Cruz Azul forward was injured while attempting a tackle in the 2-1 loss to the United States, being substituted five minutes before half-time.

The former Bolton Wanderers forward is set to be replaced by Morelia forward Luis Angel Landin, who has only one cap with El Tricolore.

Borgetti was expected to feature for El Tri against current Copa América champions Brazil on Wednesday night, so Fernando Enrique Arce, Chicago fire striker Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Nery Castillo from Greek side Olympiakos all start against Brazil.

El Tricolore head coach Hugo Sanchez is also missing midfielder Andres Guardado who was also injured in Sunday's CONCACAF Gold Cup final. He clashed heads with U.S. and West Ham United defender Jonathan Spector midway through the second-half.

Even though Guardado finished the game, he was later removed from the field on a stretcher with a neck brace.

He has travelled to Venezuela with the rest of the squad, but is not expected to see action in Tonight’s game against Brazil in Puerto Ordaz.
