Mexico's top striker Jared Borgetti has finally completed his move to English Premiership side Bolton Wanderers when he signed for the English Premiership club on Thursday.

"I can't wait to get started," said Borgetti, Mexico's all-time joint record goal-scorer, in an interview with Bolton Wanderers FC official website after passing a medical and signing a two-year contract.

The transfer fee for Borgetti, the first Mexican to join a Premiership club, from Mexican club Pachuca, has been reported at around £1million ($1.75 million), and will be seen as yet another massive signing for Bolton's manager Sam Allardyce.

"I will take three weeks off to rest and be ready to make an impact on the Premiership," said the 31-year-old, who has played a total of more than 60 competitive matches in the past year.

However, due to his massive influence on the Mexican national team, Borgetti is expected to be included when Mexico's squad for their FIFA World Cup 2006 qualifier, at home to Costa Rica on 17 August, is named this Friday.

Borgetti, a member of Mexico's 2002 FIFA World Cup side, has managed to score 35 goals for Mexico, equalling the previous record held by both Luis Hernandez and Carlos Hermosillo.

There is no doubt that Borgetti will soon break that record, and it will be interesting to see his impact on the Premiership in the coming months.
