Mexico’s record breaking goal-scoring legend Jared Borgetti wants to use the World Cup Finals to prove to Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce that he deserves more first-team action next season.

"I have unfinished business with Bolton, because I can be much better than what I have shown so far,” said Borgetti.

Borgetti, who has been a second choice striker for Bolton boss Sam Allardyce since his move to The Reebok last summer, said: "Part of my problem has been that I have not been able to begin games regularly enough.

“I believe that when I am given a good run in the team I will take my chance.

"The Premiership is tough, yet I have never had problems scoring goals at international level and against some of the best teams in the world."

Mexico have been drawn in Group D in the World Cup Finals, alongside Portugal, Iran and World Cup debutantes, Angola.
