Marco van Basten's 'Oranje' Warm-Up for Finals With Friendlies Against Mexico, Australia, Ecuador & Cameroon
The Netherlands have arranged to play four International friendlies against Ecuador, Cameroon, Mexico and Australia in the run-up to next year's World Cup finals in Germany, the Dutch football association KNVB announced on Monday.
The ‘Oranje’ team, led by Dutch legend Marco van Basten will play Ecuador on March the 1st in Amsterdam, with a match against Cameroon on May the 27th in Rotterdam.
The Dutch team, currently ranked third in the 2005 FIFA World soccer rankings behind the Czech Republic in 2nd, and World Champions Brazil, will also play against warm-up matches against fellow World Cup qualifying teams, Mexico on June the 1st and Australia on June the 4th before travelling across the border to Germany on June the 6th.
The Netherlands will play their first match in the finals on June the 11th in Leipzig against Serbia and Montenegro. The other two teams that the Netherlands face in Group C are the Cote d'Ivoire and Argentina.
