Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy Linked With Chelsea Move If Shevchenko Decides To Stay At AC Milan

Holland and Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy has emerged as a summer transfer target for Chelsea.

The move will be made for the 29-year-old former Heerenveen and PSV striker if AC Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko decides on Thursday to stay in Italy, and opts not to sign for the Premiership Champions.

If Shevchenko Signs for Chelsea, you would think Van Nistelrooy will move to AC Milan to replace the Ukrainian, with one of the two expected to become a Chelsea player next season.

The Manchester United and Holland ace Van Nistelrooy has scored 20 times in 33 appearances this term and has been tipped with a move to AC Milan, with Inter Milan also tabling a £10million offer (€14.5 Million).

He has been forced out of the Manchester United’s first team in the last few months, with France international Louis Saha being preferred in attack.

With first team action now not an option for Van Nistelrooy under Alex Ferguson, all signs point to a summer move for the Oranje ace.

With United also expressing an interest in Iceland and Chelsea star Midfielder Eidur Gudjohnsen, it could be that next season will see Van Nistelrooy and Gudjohnsen swapping North for South, in an exchange deal plus cash going Manchester United’s way.

However, Ukraine’s Andriy Shevchenko is due to announce his decision on Thursday whether he decides to stay in Italy with Milan, or to make the move to England.
