Man City Boss Stuart Pearce Unwilling To Be Diverted From His Club With England Manager Gossip

Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce, who has already been linked with the England manager’s job, is not going to be diverted from his current task - that of guiding his club to a European place in the Premiership – to that of worrying about any links with the England management set-up after Sven Goran Eriksson leaves.

The Manchester City manager has been strongly linked with some sort of role in the England managerial set-up that is due to be put in place for when Sven Goran Eriksson quits as head coach of the England team after the World Cup Finals in June.

It is still unknown whether Pearce is being considered (if at all) by the FA to replace Eriksson, or if he is possibly due to be part of the coaching team similar to the role held by Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is still unknown, yet the constant debate over the matter is of no concern to the former England defender.

“As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t make a difference to me,” said Pearce. “I know what job I’ve got. I know I’m Manchester City’s manager.

“I’m concentrating fully on that, everything else is a bit of a waste of breath for me to keep commenting on it every week to be honest. I’ve had no contact at all (with the FA).

“I don’t hold too much importance to it at the moment. All I do is concentrate on what I’m doing and field the odd question on Thursday and Friday morning, and that’s it finished for me.

“I don’t rule myself in or out of anything to be honest with you.”
