Azzuri and Fiorentina striker Luca Toni is the main transfer target for Inter Milan, while the recent comments by one of the candidates for Real Madrid's presidency ruled him out of next season's plans.

Spain's veteran Raul is set to move from Real Madrid as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet are looking as possible replacements, especially if presidential candidate Ramon Calderon gets elected in the July the 2nd elections at the Spanish Club.

Internazionale are hoping that Real will lower it's asking price for Raul to £6 million so that they can move to bring the player in Serie A. Michael Ballack was also a target, but Inter officials said that his price could not be afforded.

"In terms of technique, Ballack is beyond reproach. As for his tactical acumen, a few question marks remain. Considering the wage demands and his age, I think it was better that he joined Chelsea."

"We have decided for the moment that we're going to wait and see what develops," Gabriele Oriali, Internazionale's scout said on Sky Italia television.

The Nerazzurri have made an offer of £12.5 million to Fiorentina together with youngster Alessandro Potenza according to Channel 4's website, however Fiorentina are not discussing anything under £17 million, saying that his 31 Serie A goals last season, and they portray this as the reason for the asking price.

"Considering what he has shown in this tournament, Luis Antonio Valencia of Ecuador is a very interesting talent, even if I personally am more interested in France midfielder (Florent) Malouda,"
