Los Angeles Galaxy will not stop midfielder David Beckham from playing for England despite the international schedule clashing with the Major League Soccer side’s fixtures.

Beckham has already missed the start of the MLS season as the Spanish campaign is yet to end.

“We consider it an incredible honour to have our players playing for their national team,” said Galaxy president and general manager Alexi Lalas.

Beckham, who played his first competitive game under Steve McClaren in Estonia on Wednesday, reiterated Galaxy’s commitment to their player’s national duty.

"I've already said that LA Galaxy will do everything possible to keep me playing for my country and I suppose you could say that in my two games back we're unbeaten," said the Real Madird ace, who will wind up his four-year career in Madrid after the remaining two La Liga games.

Although not being confirmed yet into the Three Lions squad for the next set of matches by McClaren, Beckham has silenced his critics with superb displays first against Brazil in June 1 friendly and then on Wednesday as he engineered a 3-0 win in a crucial away Euro 2008 Group E qualifier, to win the hearts of England supporters.

"I'd love to be in the next squad and Steve has made that clear: if I'm performing and playing like I've been playing recently, I'll be in the squad," said Beckham, who is four caps short of becoming the fifth England player to reach 100 appearances.
