Liverpool Star Harry Kewell Fit For Socceroos' Warm-Up Friendly V Liechtenstein

Liverpool and Socceroos star Harry Kewell will be available when Australia take on Liechtenstein in Ulm on Wednesday, in their final warm-up match before facing Japan on 12 June in the opening match of Group F.

Kewell hasn’t appeared for Australia in a full international since the World Cup play-off win over Uruguay last year, missing the Socceroos recent friendlies against Greece and the Netherlands after picking up a groin injury in the English FA Cup final whilst playing for Liverpool.

But two goals in Australia's 8-1 win over a Dutch amateur side last Friday has convinced coach Guus Hiddink of his fitness. "He was playing for almost 90 minutes in the amateur game ... there was no reaction and we will play him for sure in the Liechtenstein match," Hiddink told the media.

Hiddink is also pleased with the progress of Everton midfielder Tim Cahill, who injured his knee earlier this year. Cahill scored Australia's goal in Sunday's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands and is also hoping to appear against Liechtenstein.

"It's been a long time coming since I've been injured, but the only way I'm going to find out is by playing," Cahill said. "I've had a lot of training sessions under my belt now. I've been doing the same work as everyone else."

Alavés striker John Aloisi remains the only injury concern in the Australian camp, with a minor thigh strain. However, assistant coach Graham Arnold does not consider it a problem and thinks he could also play in the Liechtenstein match.

"Everyone is fine. We have total full squad selection. It was great to see Tim Cahill get through the Dutch game unscathed and a lot of confidence it would have given him scoring the goal.” said Arnold.
