Hiddink Admits: Liverpool's Harry Kewell To Miss Australia's Group Stages In World Cup Finals

Socceroos Head Coach Guus Hiddink has revealed that Liverpool's Harry Kewell will not be fully fit for the Group stages of the World Cup Finals.

27-year-old winger Kewell is struggling with a groin injury he picked up during Liverpool's FA Cup final win against West Ham last month.

"He will not be at peak fitness, he cannot go full out for 90 minutes in the three games," said Hiddink.

"We have to be very careful how we deal with that. He is one of the few who can make the difference with one action."

Kewell missed the recent friendly against Greece in Melbourne, but has now joined up with the Australian training camp, but he is not expected to play in Sunday's warm-up against Holland, and may miss their last international friendly before the Finals begin, against Liechtenstein on Wednesday.

Australia have been drawn in Group F in the World Cup Finals, alongside Croatia, Japan and world champions Brazil.
