Italy coach Marcello Lippi has recalled Lazio goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi to the squad for next week's World Cup qualifiers with Scotland and Belarus.Peruzzi has been given the call-up with Italy still missing first choice Gianluigi Buffon through injury. "Playing oppostion of a limited quality, but with a passionate crowd behind them, can be a big problem, you must show these teams repect" said Lippi.

Accordingly,Udinese goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis has also been included in the squad, but Monaco's Flavio Roma has been dropped despite appearing in recent squads.

Roma star Antonio Cassano has not been included as doubts continue to surround his future at the Giallorossi.

Alessandro Del Piero keeps his place in the squad after returning for the National team against the Republic of Ireland earlier this month, Francesco Totti is also back after illness forced him to miss the trip to Dublin.Piero said "It's a call-up accepted by me with a really really big enthusiasm, I'm really happy to go to the national team."
Italy face Scotland next Saturday at Hampden Park, where they will surely be looking for an away win, before travelling to Minsk to take on Belarus four days later.
