With David Beckham already signed from Real Madrid, LA Galaxy are reportedly planning to swoop for his former team-mate at the El Santiago Bernabeu, Luis Figo, who is yet to decide on extending his stay at Serie A champions Inter Milan.

Figo has however declared recently that he will either quit or play on at Inter. However, that doesn’t stop LA Galaxy chief Alexi Lalas from dreaming about Figo’s switch to MLS.

“We know that Figo is on the market and we will follow the situation very carefully,” Lalas told the Diario de Noticias newspaper.

“If the player were interested in experiencing a spell in the United States we would be ready to do anything to sign him.

“The MLS’ main objective is to allow our League to become one of the most important in the world,” pointed out the former US international defender.
