Korea Republic Coach Dick Advocaat Announced Eight International Friendly Games in Preparation for World Cup FinalsSubmitted by Pavlos Skoufis on Thu, 15/12/2005 - 02:01.
With the opponents of the Korean Republic in Group G being known after Leipzig's World Cup Draw, Dick Advocaat unveiled his plans in Seoul for the preparation of his team leading up to the World Cup Finals in Germany next summer. Korea will probably be one of the few teams to play more than 5 international friendlies before the Germany 2006 World Cup tournament kicks off, however not all of them are against national teams. The national squad will start it's preparation with an intensive 6-week training period in mid-January. The first match will be played in Dubay, United Arab Emirates (UAE), against the team Dick Advocaat used to coach and which had lost to Korea by 2-0 in 2004's Asian Cup. The Korean national football squad will then move to Saudi Arabia, where it will play against Denmark and Russia, two teams which haven't qualified for the World Cup. Afterwards the team is scheduled to travel to Los Angeles, United States, where it will face the USA soccer team, US soccer league team LA Galaxy and Mexico in mid-February. in favorites | email this page
