England skipper John Terry has said that he senses no pressure on under-fire manager Steve McClaren in the wake of Three Lions’ below-par performances in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, and vowed to pick up three points in the crucial match in Estonia on June 6.

The Chelsea captain said: “It is vital we pick up the three points. We can’t go there and get anything else.

“Is there pressure on Steve? I don’t sense that. He has been very relaxed, training has been good and sharp, and what the manager demands, he gets.

“We are fully behind the manager and we are going to do our best to keep him in his job.

“Will there be a question mark over him if England lose? Possibly. But we are not thinking like that. We are thinking positively. We need to go there and get a win. It is as simple as that.

“We need to go there and perform, we need to get our sharpness back and make sure we are ready for the game on Wednesday.”

One of the world’s best centre-backs, Terry also said former skipper David Beckham deserved to be recalled for England, who play Brazil in a friendly at the Wembley Stadium on June 1.

“It is great to have him back. We all know his quality and he has brought that into training and we look forward to seeing him training,” claimed the 26-year-old.

“It is not strange for me. We are all important players in the squad and it is just great to have him back.

“I had a few chats with Steve McClaren and the form he has been in is exceptional since he came back from injury. It couldn’t go unnoticed. The manager has brought him in and rightly so.”
