Jerzy Dudek Lashes Out at Liverpool FC Coach Rafael Benitez About His Future, Refuses to Play Again for the European Champions

Jerzy Dudek lashed out on Rafael Benitez for the latter’s decision to put a high price tag for the Polish international goalkeeper. Even though the price tag was the Club's decision, Dudek holds Benitez responsible.

"It's the latest lot of rubbish from Benitez," Dudek said today in an interview with "The Sun" daily in England. "Even if he wants to play me in a Liverpool match I don't want to play for this club any more."

Dudek wants more appearances in the starting line-up, in order to convince the Poland national football team's Coach Pawel Janas for a call-up to the World Cup Finals Squad. July's transfer of Jose Reina from Villarreal made Dudek the second choice goalkeeper in Anfield.

"I can't see any point talking further with Benitez. It's a waste of time. I have decided to leave Liverpool at whatever cost and I won't change my mind. Benitez just makes the frustration deeper."

"I didn't go to play against Luton in the FA Cup last Saturday especially to make it clear to Benitez I'm not interested in being the club's second-choice keeper."

"Why doesn't he behave like a decent person for once in his life and start treating me in a proper way like I always have him?" Dudek said, signalling that he will move to a different Club at all costs.

"If someone buys me for 3 million pounds Liverpool will have pulled of the transfer deal of the years. I'm 33 in March! I have no idea how they came to such an absurd figure. My time at Liverpool has reached its end. Nothing can change that."

He made his mistakes in the past, but like much of the Liverpool team, produced perhaps one of the greatest preformances of all time in Istanbul. His service to the team should be rewarded by having his wish to move honoured. Benitez is an excellent manager, however I can't help but feel for Jerzy's position.
