Ivory Coast's Didier Zokora Snubs Arsenal, Chelsea & Manchester United in Favour of Tottenham Hotspur

Zokora confirmed that he has agreed to move to Tottenham Hotspur, despite attempts made by Chelsea's Jose Mourinho, Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsenal's Arsene Wenger. Didier Zokora praised Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe and appeared delighted that he will play with them.

In an interview with the "News of the World" weekly newspaper, Zokora admitted that once he was guaranteed a first team place, he turned down all other offers and favoured Tottenham Hotspur.

"It's done. I am a Tottenham player now. The two clubs have reached an agreement and I can't wait," the 25 years-old said. The deal is said to be around £8.5 million.

"Tottenham proved to me that they are improving as a team and have the ambition to go much higher. I wanted to join a Premiership club and the chance to live in London was an added attraction.

"Tottenham is a club with great history. Robbie Keane is a top player and they also have Jermaine Defoe. I know Assou Ecoto, who has just signed from Nantes, as we played together in the French League."

"I can't wait for August to come and the start of a new season so that I can be part of the Premiership."
